Why is Google going mobile?
In a nutshell we think they are going mobile because we are!
- About 50% of all searches are done from a mobile device.
- About 75% of all local searches where people are looking for something “near me” are done on a mobile device.
Search engines are in the business of providing the best, most relevant and helpful results to their users, so incorporating mobile sites as a factor makes excellent business sense. Say for example, you are out and about, on a tight schedule, and you get hungry. When you search “food near me” (from your mobile phone or device, or ask by asking Siri or Google Chrome) you want to get a list of places that have great reviews, and are close by – starting with those closest to you. You also want to be able to find and read the menu and reviews quickly and easily, and be able to call or order online for pick-up, all from your phone within minutes. This new element in Google’s algorithim will make that happen.
